Darkness calls

To know fear

Do you hear the darkness call?

A shiver crawls down your spine

Into the shadow will you fall

To sleep beyond all time?

Nightmares from deep inside

Monsters that know your heart

Your secrets they derive

You scream as they depart

At first they lightly touch your skin

You don’t even know they’re there

Then harder still, they press in

Each poke a darker dare

You turn to look, but none appear

There is nothing for you to see

Your soul is gripped in icy fear

By a thing that set your terror free

A whisper of a voice

Gives you a cold start

As it offers you a choice

That strikes fear into your heart

Will you die in a quick bite,

To be consumed as a meal?

Or will you be a demon’s delight,

A trophy of their zeal?

Do you hear the darkness call?

A shiver crawls down your spine

How can you stand up to it all

When fear assaults your mind?
