I have no song of you, no movie
to cry to. Our severing, short
like a creek bridge, filled a bed
and watered algae green,
my ecosystem
grown by moonlight.
I tumble
empty
reels.
A/N: “Reels” here has a double meaning in reference to two words in the first line.

This is so good! Also, thanks for the author's note because I wasn't perceptive enough haha😄. I really, really love the opening sentence of this!
I love that there are layers in this, as it also speaks to the pain of looking into the depths of one's loss and then not finding any other life there. I also really enjoyed your "watered algae green" description. So vivid and perfect. Fantastic piece.
The imagery and that reference to reels was perfect in this one, my friend! Fabulously done!
Thank you for the author note on the double meaning! Got to go back and appreciate the one I missed! Great nonet, Mackenzie!
Love the imagery in this one Mackenzie and the word play you snuck in there! Very clever!!
I caught both those meanings. Your Nonet was so poignant and deep. I loved it!
i love the verbs- filled, watered, grown, tumble- and how they guide the reader through your journey. beautiful poem.
So powerful and heart wrenching.
