Danny.

on the verge of empty.

(original sculpture & picture)

Danny had a car,

a car that didn't go far

The car had a gas gauge,

with no gas to age

Danny was sad,

and the car being all he had

With no gas to spare,

or fucks to care

He drove the car,

to the nearest bar

Then to a spot,

where life would be forgot

The car sputtered out of gas,

coming to a stop alas

There sat a ledge,

with Danny on the edge

Bottle in one hand,

and a 45 in another

See the ledge he could understand,

so defined, just like the other

Why is it that's all he could comprehend,

did it matter to him in the end?

Danny looking at the bottle,

hearing the car's imaginary throttle

Says, "I now know what the edge of empty feels like,"

with that, to his head pained a sharp strike

Danny's body fell,

with the empty gun and bottle off the edge as well.
