body to body
under these red lights,
breath tangled in sin,
so close but so far away
as we waltz through the night
eyes like fire,
a grin sharp as glass,
you lead with intention,
and i follow instinctively,
your hands roam my clothed curves
touching me in places
where silence breaks and
restraint begins to unravel.
the bass of the music
matches my pulse,
and in this fevered haze,
i forget who i was
before your shadow found mine.
your breath finds my neck –
hot, deliberate,
a promise, a warning,
a game we both know
neither of us will win.
but still we sway,
temptation on loop,
dancing with the devil
when desires arise.
