7.

Mom finally shows up to the school. A huge weight is lifted off of my back. As well as my classmates and my teacher.

She comes backstage and hands me my beloved kicks. I almost shed a tear. “Thank you so much, Dukes. You’re a lifesaver” She expresses her gratitude by giving me a big bear hug, and then rushes to go find her seat in the crowd.

“Alright everybody, get in your spots,” my teacher shouted. “The show starts in 5 minutes.”

I laced up my shoes and got into the performing mode. Time to blow the roof off.
