You just want to turn it off, don't you?
This filter that you are viewing the world through,
You want to turn it off, close your eyes, go to sleep.
The exhaustion is a heavy thing in your bones,
Can't you feel the weight of it dragging you into the dirt?
Just a cruel master pushing you toward the grave
As it sucks out the last bits of color from your dreams.
Ah no, you can't feel it at all, can you?
Is it because the weight has become a familiar thing
Or is it because you have stopped dreaming altogether
That you cannot recognize the heaviness of your soul?

This is really good, Silver! I could feel the heaviness grow with each line. Very relevant and concerning social commentary
Very true, Silver! Gosh, the last line was powerful. Loved the message here! 💌
My, oh my.... forget the heaviness of my soul. The weight of this poem is eye opening! I love that this has a literal and metaphorical meaning to it! Very nicely done SD!!
I clicked on this, doom scrolled on TikTok for half an hour, then read the poem. Oops.

Reaching into the depths of my soul as always: love it.
So incredibly relatable. And I've not really used social media for a few years now! Powerful writing, as ever, Silver!
