Curtains

Lips

By Max McDanielPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Lips.

The velvet curtain of my mind.

Hosting the concert of my thoughts

anytime I rhyme.

Symphonies playing out

constantly on tour.

Hundreds of people have listened.

Whether it be at school or a store.

The main focus?

The thing their eyes naturally lock to?

Red pieces of fabric

hiding the white stage

sounds traveling and vocalizing

as it unleashes the red wave.

The most powerful gift.

Something each one of us possess.

Use it to express our emotions

or over things we obsess.

Sound waves akin to earthquakes.

Destroying peoples happiness.

Sadness left in its wake.

Parallel to that

it can also be gentle.

A light breeze blowing around

our minds being put at ease.

So delight in the temptation

that these curtains withhold.

A settling sensation,

words red hot

or ice cold.

About the Creator

Max McDaniel

I’m pretty new to writing Poetry and Creative Writing in general. I was pretty nervous about publishing anything but due to the support from Friends and Family I’ve decided to put myself out there and hopefully make someone’s day.
