Cure

We are not meant to walk this path alone.

There are no sins for which we must atone -

only an emptiness within

can cause a mortal soul to sin

when all that nothing starts to guzzle out,

and there is naught to fill that hole but love.

Love of oneself is what i'm speaking of,

but how do you expect a sinner

to learn to cook his own damn dinner

when all you do to him is kick and shout?

If we don't love the ones who hurt the worst

they'll be the ones who hurt our children first.

... I take that back. The wound

that first our kids consumed

was unforgiveness. WE teach them to doubt.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Let's put a stop to it today.

No more projecting our dismay

no matter what they do or say.

To love who hurt you is what life's about.
