Cuddling Demons Ain't So Bad

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 5 months ago 1 min read

[Verse]

I don't always wrestle my demons

Sometimes we cuddle when the sun goes down

In the glow of their bright fiery halos

We sip coffee and watch life spin around

[Chorus]

Cuddling demons ain't so bad

They know my secrets

they know my past

They laugh when I stumble

They cry when I crash

Cuddling demons ain't so bad

[Verse 2]

They wear their horns like a crown of gold

They tell me stories I've never been told

Their voices crack like ice in the heat

But their lies sound sweeter than honey to me

They whisper soft

Like falling rain

My chaos is theirs

My joy their chain

[Chorus]

Cuddling demons ain't so bad

They steal my sorrow

They make me mad

They dance in the dark

They sing out of key

Cuddling demons feels like me

[Bridge]

Sometimes I think I'll let them go

Watch them fade in the ember's glow

But they cling tight to my skin like an old tattoo

I'm afraid if they go, they'll take my angels too

[Chorus]

Cuddling demons ain't so bad

They know my secrets

They know my past

They laugh when I stumble

They cry when I crash

Cuddling demons ain't so bad
