Cryptopoetry’s Finest
A take on the physical and digital nature of money.
Pockets are healthy, the rolls of cash swell.
The greenbacks mean a duffel bag crashed.
And the dollars all flew out and just fell.
Hopes were all but constrained or even dashed.
Now it’s on for cryptocurrency calls.
The greedy teeth shine with all the ethics.
Trillions fly through the ‘Net, the kid just falls.
Count it, it’s all there, check all the metrics.
Cash speeds the markets which are strong and weak.
To bad investors, this is not good ground.
Those that plan to only shake and just seek.
What is most important is how it’s found.
The coin moves quickly, without the great haste.
No longer do bills stick like pad and paste.

Chanda sent home money every two weeks. In a small village in India, she deposited money into the bank account of her aunt and uncle who sent her to live in America. The place seemed so remote, almost cut off from the rest of the country. There, a festival took place where participants hurled cow eliminations at each other. The muddy, mucky sense of it had been known for centuries. Locals tied it to an ancient god who they believed restored people’s health with the cow plops. During the festival, thick patties passed through the air and smushed into the bodies and faces of those rollicking around in the filth.

Thoughts on Vocal and the way the world is
"Death cannot stop true love, only delay it." – Wesley in The Princess Bride. I decided to come back to Vocal on a very cold and dark night at the end of December. I had been, and still am, convalescing from a horrible staph infection that had gone misdiagnosed for months. This, paired with the increasing challenges of being healthy, making the best choices for my co-parented child, being a wife, and being a director at a new job, was a lot to manage.
