Crisp Winter Air

A poem about winter and sadness.

By JessicaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read
This is a photo I took while in Ireland.

Crisp Winter Air come find me

For I am far too comfortable in my slumber.

I fear that I have grown complacent lately

And nothing brings me Happiness here--no, no longer.

Snowy Mountain Tops, where dost thou reside?

Certainly not here in my memory nor in my mind

For I cannot fathom thee nor seek out where you hide

And I feel that the breadth of your beauty is not for me to find.

Icy Cold Sleet, are you out there?

I have waited patiently all season for thee

And yet find each morning that thou hast left without care

Or even so much as a tender kiss given unto me.

Once again, Crisp Winter Air, please come find me

And tally no longer because I need you to break this spell

That confines me to these dark recesses filled with sadness and misery

For if I am destined to stay here much longer then who can safely tell.
