The story of COVID-19 and the Tories

By James BeckPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Look at Italy.

Hospitals are overrun.

It’ll be fine here.

We won’t close borders.

Must protect the economy.

It tanked anyway.

Covid’s a bad cold.

I’ll shake everybody’s hand.

Very nearly died.

‘Follow the science’

to decide the best approach.

Or just ignore it.

We are the UK.

Greatest healthcare in the world.

Many thousand dead.

Let’s ‘clap for carers.’

Show our appreciation.

Won’t pay a good wage.

‘Eat out to help out.’

Let’s fix our economy

and spread the disease.

A catchy slogan -

'Hands, face, space.' That'll fix it.

Ignored by zealots.

New India strain,

we must stop it coming here.

Too late as usual.

Numbers shooting up.

We will ‘follow the data.’

Let’s have ‘Freedom Day’!

We have a vaccine.

But not everyone’s had it.

Too bad for them.
