a poem

I have begged you

from down on my knees,

.

I have cried endless tears,

.

I have died

to myself.

.

And now I lie at your heels.

.

Do you hear me crying?

Do you hear my heartbreak?

Do you feel anything as I beg you to stay?

.

Cover me,

Oh Lord, cover me.

.

I’m unclothed, I’m unclean.

.

But underneath,

buried deep,

beneath my heart,

afraid to speak,

lies a spark, loyal and true,

and it beats so strongly

just for you

oh Lord,

.

Cover me,

Cover me,

Cover me.

Even though I'm an Atheist, I felt your joy and love for God pulsing in your poem! This was so lovely.

  • This one was too familiar. I felt the sting of remembering. So good

I feel the pain and the passion in your poem. Heartbreakingly bittersweet.
