Lanterns on a Country Road

In the cold night,

Deep in the mountains,

Lanterns hang from the houses,

On the winding road,

While the light glowed,

Deep in the night,

The lights shine,

With a gleam so fine,

While the night goes on,

They stay illuminated,

Until dawn,

The flames flicker,

They brighten the night,

While giving off great light,

The town at night,

Oh so cold,

The flames if they could,

Would warm my soul,

The lanterns wave in the wind,

Time and again,

As people walk on by,

As the night is nigh,

And the country felt so warm,

It gives off love and charm,

As the night wears on.
