Conversation With The Muse

An abecedarian poem

The Writer and his muse by Judah LoVato

A new prompt; Muse! What’s your insight?

Better just write.

Clearly, what should it entail?

Dainty detail.

Each work should, how about flowers?

Florid flowers.

Good lord you muse, by the powers!

How vague a thought you’ve given me!

I’ll have to try; I’ll have to see…

Just write dainty details of florid flowers:

———

“Kaleidoscope colors of spring

Lillie’s teetering

Marvelous pinks and whites and gold

Nasturtiums unfold

Orange sunspots where the sun shines

Parading lines

Quiet along walls where ivy winds

Reflections in the babbling stream

Send senses to a somber dream

Teetering nasturtiums unfold parading lines.”

———

Understand? The form’s an “Ovillejo”

Very nice

What did you think of the poem?

Xerox that one

You think I’ll win this one? What’re my odds?

Zero

Acrostichumor

My collection of sometimes decent writing

Which I've left "there" for seekers to seek

Though I lack the grandeur of that Pirate King

Perhaps these pebbles can be a light

In this life, this laughing tale
