TODAY I TRIED ON CONTACTS FOR WEAK EYES
TO MY SURPRISE
I COULD SEE SO WELL.
SO, SIT A SPELL
AND TELL ME A STORY OF RIMLESS GLASSES
FOR LADS & LASSES
OF WEAK EYES.
TO THE SURPRISE
THEY SLID RIGHT INTO MY EYES
AFTER BEING AWAY TEN YEARS
WITHOUT TEARS,
FOR NO FEARS,
TO DOLLAR TREE
PAIR OF PINK READING GLASSES
FOR LADS & LASSES
AND PINK SHADES FOR ME
TO SEE
IN THE DARK & LIGHT.
DESPITE THE WEAK EYES
TO MY SURPRISE
I CAN SEE THE BRIGHT.
THE LIGHT.
THE SMALL PRINT,
FROM THE LARGE PRINT,
DAYTIME WEAR FOR NOW
& A NIGHT OUT ON THE TOWN
& AROUND.
TO MY SURPRISE 2024
TEN YEARS LATER IN TIME
TO MAKE A RHYME

"YOU & ME IN 1989"
This is a true story as told to me by a friend after a breakup with her abusive ex long ago. This story-prose is dedicated to all persons who live, love, and breakup after years of struggles between a woman & man, or man & man, or woman & woman. The pain bleeds the heart after secrets revealed that ended the relationship in domestic violence of either verbal abuse or physical abuse. Both hurt the heart and sever the soul. The trick is do not sell your soul for love.

My eyes are so sensitive, I dread contact lenses. But they have them for weak eyes, I had no idea. Still, it is scary. Good luck on the town. Enjoy the best years now.
