Consumed by you

Sometimes feelings take on a life of their own...

By Yvonne KnightPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

One thing led to another and another,

You grabbed me by the heart out of nowhere,

You consumed my heart from the start

Heart then mind,

Tide turned quickly,

My heart and mind became so sickly,

I knew you didn’t love me back,

And really that should’ve been the end of that

Flipped my blinders on,

Persisted and Insistent,

The pursuit of you consumed me,

Thoughts of you doomed me,

Couldn’t get off the hamster wheel,

What’s my deal?

This is surreal,

I need to learn to deal with this,

I need to heal from this,

Forgive me of my trespass.
