The coolness of the sheets on my skin as I touch the vacant place where you have been.
I stretch, expanding my body to feel the space.
All I want is to turn and see your handsome face.
It’s a warm night, but I still feel cold.
Laying here all alone is getting old.
I’ve heard stories of those with a love so great they can’t ever be apart.
Yet here I lay with this deep, heavy ache in my heart.
This was once a place that brought me peace, filled with laughter and the sounds of love.
Now the silence of whispered memories is broken by the sound of my tears.
If I try hard enough I can feel you holding me close.
But when I open my eyes you’re gone like a ghost.
