Consider the Ant
Ode to the Sluggard

She’s not a daydream—
she’s a craftsman, a chef, a gardener.
She doesn’t do it for show.
Nor is she a showstopper—
Like the dragonfly, or grasshopper,
with their views and their likes.
3D colors in portrait mode.
She’s a minuscule piece to the puzzle.
Insignificant to the eye.
But she brings more to the table
with readiness.
When the soil is scourged with famine
she toiled long during summer
to prepare for winter.
What would become of the world
if I labored,
like she, her
it—ant.
With no one watching?
What if we still did things
when we didn’t feel like it?

"She’s a minuscule piece to the puzzle."- nicely contrasted with the flashier insects, but also alludes well to the idea of the worker ant, part of a greater whole. Again, love the questioning last line👏
Yet does the ant no anything other than that at which she/he/it labors. Do they know how to dream?
Love this, Natasha!!
I love that final question. Real mic drop!
To answer the question in your last two lines, I'd develop a panic attack 😅😅 Loved your poem!
Consider her ways and be wise. Great lyrical interpretation. Reminds me of the John Wyndham book too.
