Conscious Parenting

We can integrate the deficits in our parents, as we navigate parenting

My parents, did fair,

as they kept us well-fed,

protected from evils,

gave a safe childhood,

there was a library to read,

and garden to explore,

calves and chicken,

to play with,

and we had liberty,

to go and meet friends,

invite to our house.

But that was not enough,

as they did not engage much,

spending time and energy

in livestock in the barn,

grueling paddy agriculture,

managing farmhands,

attending to relatives,

and dealing with guests.

I don’t remember much

of they sitting with us,

teaching, and inspiring,

instilling good life philosophies.

I am not blaming,

they were doing parenting

for the first time, just like us.

But we can amend

for those mistakes,

we saw and felt,

and raise our kids,

consciously, catering,

to their emotional needs,

being the role models,

we expected, growing up.

Don't worry that children never listen to you; worry that they are always watching you. ~ Robert Fulghum

I think we all want to be good parents and want to give our best as your parents did. We all do it our own way that’s how we learn and grow with our children ♦️♦️♦️♦️
