Connection

What becomes of us

By Holly Ann LoughryPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

what becomes of a body

when it ceases to be touched

ceases to be connected

to that which gives it life

that which makes breathing

seem like a pleasure

more than a consequence of living

what becomes of a heart

when it beats for itself alone

when its purpose seems

to be disconnected

from the community

meant to feed it light

to fill it with love

what becomes of a person

when wrapped in the silence

of one sided conversations

seeking answers to questions

no one asked

and no one cares to know

what becomes of a life

when everything has gone

leaving a

body, a

heart, a

person, a

life, when

all you wanted

was connection
