Confusion and general angst
Tiffany and Antoni's $ January prompt. Finally, I know how I would be happy to buy the $280,000 poem. I dare you try to write an entry with a straight face of goodness and sweetness.

Jeff!!! Jeff broke my heart
With his DEBIT card, I broke
His financial heart

''''''''''''
Went on a shopping spree that would make any rich girl blush
$280, 000 to the Salvation Army shelter down the street.
$280,000 to Clement Moore (hope he got it out there in the Ether)
$1000 to every Vocal creator, more to my Faves (you know who you are).
$100,000 to pay off my idiot brother's debt
1,1/2 Mill, to an offshore account in a fake name, routed through a fake whatever they route stolen stuff through. I know a guy.
50 grand to the guy.
Other misc stuff which I cannot name. Relatives and friends, the needy and the deserving benefitted.
I left Jeff 1 thousand dollars. Would feel bad to see him on the street homeless. He better figure out something quick. I am off on vacay somewhere far and anonymous.
Ah, money well spent.
...
Using my own money (if i had it) to buy the poem: Well, broke me says 'heck no'. Rich me says, sure, I have money to spend to look upon the lovely words with a smile, my pride saying it was worth it. My conscience pricking me with shame, but I don't care. Everyone will know that I have arrived by owning such a distinguished treasure.
We are all hypocrites...and proud of it.
After writing the beginning of five (5) poems and stories for this challenge, and not finishing any. I finally came to the above conclusion.
WE ARE ALL HYPOCRITES.
We all want the treasures, the fame, the glory. We justify it with aiding the needy, salving our consciences and being philanthropic.
But, you know what, it is what makes us human. And we do love a bit of showing off, even if we try to hide it behind a facade of sweetness.
So, go be human. Give and receive.
And enjoy it to the max.

That was funny and honest :)
Loved your spending spree on Jeff's money!!! You were to kind to leave him $1000. Humorously penned!!! Delightful read!!!β€οΈβ€οΈπ
Very insightful, honest work; I so relate to the tension between wanting to give/serve with artistic expression, and the burning to get glory and attention for myself...it's so human, you're right!! Love this piece and all the different things the money would be poured into! :)
Geez Jeff it is 280k...Honestly tis was amusing to read
That Jeff... However, I think that if we are not at least a bit egotistical, we wonβt be able to save anything to give to philanthropy. Just thinking...
