A nightmare
in a bright, white
coffee shop
My eyes spread open
with clammy, soft hands
my own
Sun rays split
by tables,
bodies
There is decay
it is draping
over their shoulders
their own
You lie
and the sunlight
slices
I blink
An old woman
An old man
In a white car
On a hot day
Holding ice cream cones
Licking cream off of
Protruding veins
I see them tasting
Joy
And forgiveness
It dances
On their
Vanilla tongues
Where were you when
Us all anointed
With a soothing balm
Lemon
Rose
And lavender
Distracted
So
Goodbye
I shiver
in a
bright, white
coffee shop
