Comfort Is A Verb

When Love Changes From A Noun

We said forever and anon, when we knew we fell in love,

anon being: forever and a day. (see you again, soon)

Though, loving you completely, will take a lifetime, honey,

but, it's not nearly long enough, for me. (yes, it's true)

*

I've got a best friend through the good times,

a lover through the tough.

A gentle hand to help me find my way,

when life gets a little rough.

*

What if you betray my trust, you ask?

To that, I'd have to say,

trusting you - was my decision.

Proving me wrong, is yours to make.

*

Trust brings a wealth of comfort,

when the world knocks you down.

Someone in your corner, cheering on,

makes love a verb, out of a noun

*

So, we go along together, making memories we love,

taking chances, creating things we never dreamed.

Finding comfort, neither of us ever thought we would,

learning life is better loved, when you're a team.
