Comfort in Home

For every homebody, you will understand...

By Correy M. SertzelPublished 3 years ago 1 min read
Comfort comes in many forms, but I get my comfort and peace from home.

Just like many English words, comfort doesn’t have a singular meaning...

But as humans, we live in a world that can be incredibly demeaning.

People can be very judgmental and full of hate.

In turn, some of us may find ourselves evading or leaning.

Getting comfort is like taking a step away so you can take a big breath in.

I often find myself having to step back these days, and that’s okay…

Personally, my cozy bedroom amongst my plants and books is where I go if I need comfort...

My plants have grown more tangled across my books, but my books always remain in their strict array.

The claws of my creeping plants have sprawled their dagger-like limbs in my window’s screening.

This space keeps me safe and calm; it makes the pain of the day go away.

Again, as humans, we may face a lot of hate in such a striding world.

My abode allows me to take a step to look at what is truly keeping this world gleaming.

Creativity, love, and kindness is a treasure; they give the world beauty and diversity with each passing day.

Home is where I began and it continues to build me, it allows me to truly live in my own skin.

My comfort will always be centered around my home, wherever it may be.

Home unfortunately can’t fit in a pack or a tin…

Comfort can be many things for others, it may come from creating or cleaning...

Or you may get it in a cherished teddy, blanket, book, a fond moment in a movie...

What is important is that comfort can ease the hurt you may get from the world, comfort comes in all different forms.

Find balance using your own forms; the world needs your mind, your smile, and most importantly your love.
