Cometh And That Right Soon
Poetry inspired by Rita Hayworth and The Shawshank Redemption

I was lied to and lied on. It seemed like my future had died on.
I didn’t have a shoulder to cry on.
Nowhere to go. I’m boxed in trapped by these concrete walls.
Enduring the pain and suffering of my enemy’s flaws.
Interestingly enough I made friends along the way.
I’m thankful for them. They helped me through the longest day.
Yes I suffered, but I’m not completely doomed.
The ones who tried to destroy me will face their judgement soon.
I’m wounded. You might’ve seen me bend but you won’t see me break.
Stick around and brace yourself for my big escape.
I refuse to stay handcuffed to this world of pain.
Time for me to book a ticket to the world of sane.
No! I hold no doubts of fear. I only wield internal strength.
It’s a promise that I’ll make it out of here.
To my friends, shed no tears when I pass those gates unknowingly.
When you hear the cheers you’ll know it’s me.
Now I’m free and singing a new nice tune.
The father saw what you did and best believe his judgment will come and that right soon.
