Colors That Represent ME
Six colors that have a deeper meaning
I’m who I am
And I can’t change that
There are six different colors
All made an impact
On my life and my family
I’ll tell you what they all mean
It’s what makes me unique
It all started when I was eighteen
The first color is purple
It represents pride and fear
It’s just a piece of my puzzle
Through hard days I persevere
The second color is blue
It means sadness and dejection
I try to turn my frown into a smile
We all have our imperfections
The third color is green
I’m friendly with a big heart
A rare heart that’s been broken
No glue can keep it from falling apart
The fourth color is yellow
I shine bright like the sun
It represents all my happiness
Fighting against the hate coming from the world’s tongue
The fifth color is orange
The warmth from knowing I’m not alone
Others share the same sexuality
Wearing chains and men’s cologne
The last color is red
Anger built up inside
Through all the hate I’ve fought through
Sometimes I want to run and hide
A girl who represents
Masculinity and femininity
It’s what makes me unique
And that’s my identity
This poem is about the flag
And all the colors that build it
I’m apart of the LGBTQ community
I get to write my own script
You want to know what make me, me
Six colors is all I need
Red, orange, and yellow
Purple, blue, and green.
