Colors of the World

Colors evoke strong emotion

By Bekah JimenezPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

Red is rage and utter fury

Or oozing blood when skin is broken

But it also means the bliss of love

O'er which many and angry word is spoken.

Orange is the warmth of fire,

The comfort and crackle on a winter night.

It too can be a blazing bane

That creates an entire forest's blight.

Yellow is the soft sun's rays

Joyously breaking through the rain.

It's the hot sun beneath your feet

And the cause of sunburn - oh the pain!

Green is the fresh, clean scent

Of lush and healthy growing things.

This color can scream "Go!"

Or be the face of someone sick on the sea.

Blue is cool and soothing water.

Perhaps it's skin chilled by a breeze.

A deep, never-ending sadness caused by love scorned

That only passing time will ease.

Purple, regal and majestic silk,

Or a fresh bruise from someone who should keep his hands to himself.

Grapes growing fat upon the vine

Slowly ages into expensive wine bottles on the shelf.
