Colorful Lies

She's deteriorating

Red flush on the cheeks

Orange concealer

Yellow tint in the eyes

Just don’t want to be her

Green with envy

Blue hues in the skin

Purple streaks in the hair

To hide scarlet sin

Pink scars on the heart

Brown freckles and moles

White lies cover up

Black stains on the soul

A rainbow of disaster

Why won’t she die faster

From this world she will fade

As her mind goes gray

Her skeleton of ivory

Is not what she’s meant to be

Shadows of charcoal

Dance in her eyes though

Flesh worth as much as silver

So the body will be sold

To dissect her or kill her

Won’t reveal a heart of gold

surreal poetry

About the Creator

Emily Dickerson

Hopeful and young, full of love. From my heart high praises are sung. For this reason I am here: to love and serve and bring all souls near. <3
