Moleskine Poem 05/16/2021
Color of Ray Rhythm
As the sun rises so does the brown hair on my head and my brown eyes open to see a brand new day ahead.
Rolling out of bed with hearts full of praise as I sing all the way to the bathroom to wash my face.
God, Oh God thank you for this day where I can see the green trees and the blue hummingbirds singing away.
As I look in the mirror I admire the movement and structure of my body of a cool and calm melanin skin tone, drifting back and forth with a smooth style of dancehall to every beat of the music.
Buju Banton: “Me wanna walk like a champion, talk like a champion, what a piece of body gal, tell me where you get it from”!
From parents of Guyana to the City of New York with a hood attitude, but a classy heart. Down the stairs, to the kitchen gotta grab a bit of mama’s sweet dumplings.
Lipton tea with a shot of honey, hits the spot like nothings funny.
Out the door into the car, you hear that reggae music from afar.
Oh yea, it’s a new vibe of this New York state of mind.
