Color Change

My heart has been permanent, from the night you colored it black.

forever and day

that's what we used to say

but now, there's nothing i can say

to make you stay

actions may be louder than words

but even so, there was no way

even after everything i tried

for you

you were through

my worst nightmare,

it actually came true

once you were gone

my heart changed color

days grew longer

and my nights grew colder

now your former

your days, they grew warmer

i'm glad your glad, but...

oh my heart, has never been more sad

never so bright, has been this color,

black

i'm not so sure

if it can turn back

but i am so sure

that you

are not coming back

About the Creator

Josh Morgan

Personally, writing began as a creative outlet, to be a means of processing and venting emotion, but it has become so much more. Something I want not to be just relatable, enjoyable and a good read, but to reach someone who is in need.
