Collection of Colours

To embody the concept of non-duality in life, we must first discern the notion of duality in living….

I am somebody, so are you, you are unique, as am I, yet, we are human together.

When I met Yugen, his colourful collection of characteristics filled every half moon crevice on the palate of desirable qualities one wishes for in a soul beyond the self and I was proud to paint my name against his full and rich essence, his uniqueness….

He is someone, as I am and together, we are human. The difference in our colours is that when we mix together our words and melt into each others calico worlds we perceive them through a prismatic lens only the eye of the beholder can truly know and entirely feel.

When I met Yugen, I also met myself, the colours of my character splashed on every surface of his dark canvas and we created a moving masterpiece. Each sheet of our existence, unveiling and oscillating into a new version of ourselves that hadn’t been previously witnessed with such intensity and intimacy. We, became all at once, one complete body of nothing, the fullest expression of everything and every colour under the brightest star in a sky powdered with everyone’s dream of becoming someone.

When Yugen met me, he told me I was like a heroine to him and one vignette later, he had placed his rose-coloured glasses down next to his promise of seeing things as they truly were and found his most authentic expression in its wake.

He unearthed himself as an open vessel that sailed the seas of blue expansive possibilities and never for a moment looked back over his shoulder that had already given way to winter’s end. In front of him was the warmest of island homes opening its tender arms and encasing him with his sun-kissed warm humanity again. We laughed, that the blush of his cheeks wouldn't be so revealing. His melanin surface penetrating deeper than anyone in the world would care for. I made up for the loss of sherry-soaked impressions and I glowed from crown to toe a whole symphony of luminescence fireflies craving to shine on the darkest night of the earth's solar return.

We yearn to be somebody, yet at times we desire to be a nobody, floating through the ether of no definition.

When Yugen met me, he wrote me endless pieces of somatosensory poetry, the sort of scripts I had only ever evoked up in my dream-like reality. He inspired more freedom in my medium voice and colour in my choice of living in a way that resonated deeply with my spirited heart, for a second I thought it was beyond me, this tapestry of mellifluous frequencies reaching beyond time and space. Until I sat in the enchanted forest of my self-worth, the colours that I noticed internally would have never been so illuminated.

Yugen showed me, how to float tethered to the earth, swinging me back and fourth like a pendulum, always finding a way to drive me back to the other end of the spectrum in full motion.

We yearn to be nobody, yet at times we desire to be a somebody, floating through the ether of full recognition.

The resting place of pure consciousness cannot be witnessed. It is only to be felt.

The resting place of the purest conscious space I had ever embodied is in within all of us to be discovered. .

It is a place beyond the mind, where our limitless potential exists, where there are colours that have yet to be discovered and decorated on paper, or words that have yet to be whispered in the ears of a lover.

Were we are a somebody and simultaneously, a nobody, connected completely through our persistent humanity.

To become nothing, we must first acknowledge that we are something. Whether you are a she, a he, a they or a them, we are.

We are.

So as we are, become proudly a something of no-thing and shine like the brightest star in a sky full of somebodies, desiring to become nothing, and let that be your everything.

To embody the concept of non-duality, we must first discern the notion of duality.

After all, I am only human because of your humanity.

Find your truest colours, first.

Let the reflection of this discovery compliment your already perfect existence.
