Cold Coffee

The day started out with rain

Lifting her mug from the table revealed a perfectly circular coffee stain imprinted on an eggshell piece of paper

For a moment she paused

Pondering the cause

Her eyes fixed on the knapkin

Spotting next to it a little square tin

Then from the ceramic pressed to her lips

She decided to take a sip

But immediately spit the now cold contents

Instead of trying again

She decided it would be a win

To pop a mint from the tin

Slip on her red tennis shoes

And stroll to the local coffee shop

For some fresh brew and small town news
