Cobblestone Crackdowns

Public Announcement

In the centre of town, there's a hill.

They call it

Steep Hill.

Climbing it

is a genuine fight

I'd recommend…

Breathe in deeply, then out.

Take your time.

Set aside an hour or two from your day.

It might be hard at first

but you'll get the hang of it.

Stretch your legs;

you'll need this little warm-up.

Get ready,

expect the worst.

Lots of people have perished trying to climb this hill

on foot, of course.

No vehicles allowed!

It's too steep and narrow!

They're going around

through four Roman gates,

that mark the world's four corners.

Enjoy the scenery; it'll do you good.

There are little cafes and gift shops,

galleries and flower shops to explore.

If you need a break from walking uphill, pop into

Jew's Court bookshop or Harding House Gallery,

or perhaps Debutante Boutique or the Chocolaterie.

You could also visit The Arbour florist or check out

Widow Cullen's Well -

drink up while the mulled wine is still warm.

Explore everything from top to bottom.

Be warned, though,

of the Jailhouse Frock -

they'll strip you bare

and claim it's all for a dance.

If you're broke,

you can always sit a spell

on the Mayor's Chair,

a place to rest

planted here in ornate style,

dating back to the seventeenth century.

Once you’ve passed all of that,

the town's most alluring aspect

your welcome view will be.

The reward: a beautiful vista.

A castle on the left, a cathedral on the right.

You've earned this because

many have perished climbing this steep hill.

So, avoid being remembered in that way.
