It’s almost 3AM in the breeze,

The room is filled with darkness

I thought of our memories,

Wrapped in sheets, I sank so deep;

your love still lingers on me.

I thought it ended long ago,

But still you haunt me, my lover

The way we used to be—

The way you used to call me—

My lovely

My beautiful baby

I miss you so deeply,

Your gentle touch, your warmth that fed—

my heart

my flesh

my soul

But you burned it all —

And now,

Our love is just a coal…

Like ashes flying in the wind

I remember it all still.

The day you walked away, my love…

I knew I had to find a way

To leave—

If only God will let me.

..turning my inner world into a language.

These are pieces of me, caught in time.

These poems were never meant to be anything more than my way of surving..

If you find yourself somewhere inside them, then maybe they were pieces of you too.
