Cluttered Thoughts

Momento Mori

Cluttered Thoughts

My mind is a dense and over-stuffed place

Around me are the skeletal remnants of grace

Killed by time's unrelenting pace

Entire worlds drowned in time

Indistinct echoes with which we rhyme

Towering giants on which we unknowingly climb

Slivers of awareness in our cosmic dance

Too much power over too much chance

Open to the weight of crushing choice

Pain to which I can give no voice

Acrostic

The cosmic perspective woven through this poem adds such depth. It makes the struggle feel universal not just personal.

This is like wandering the darkest halls of one's mind - a scary but necessary practice!
