Clear Waters

(Verse 1)

In the silence of the night,

A smooth glass bottle shines bright,

A temporary balm for my weary soul,

But I know it’s a poison that takes control.

Each sip, a whisper, each drop, a lie,

A fleeting comfort, but I can’t deny,

It feels so good, I’m cradled in its bliss,

Yet deep down, I know there’s something I’ll miss.

(Chorus)

Clear waters wash over me,

In this numbness, I long to be free.

But I’m drowning deep in this sea of despair,

Can’t feel the love that once filled the air.

Like a pistol in my hand, it shoots to the core,

I’m mean and I’m cruel, but I’m craving more.

Oh, this bottle, it cradles my fears

Clear waters drown all the laughter and tears.

(Verse 2)

Promises broken, like glass on the floor,

Loved ones slipping away, I can’t take anymore.

I’m hollow, I’m empty, my heart’s frozen tight,

In this transient warmth, I lose my own fight.

I don’t want their love when the darkness is near,

I'd rather get lost in oblivion’s cheer.

Will I destroy what I hold so dear?

The weight of this choice fills me with fear.

(Chorus)

Clear waters wash over me,

In this numbness, I long to be free.

But I’m drowning deep in this sea of despair,

Can’t feel the love that once filled the air.

Like a pistol in my hand, it shoots to the core,

I’m mean and I’m cruel, but I’m craving more.

Oh, this bottle, it cradles my fears,

Clear waters drown all the laughter and tears.

(Bridge)

I’m caught in the tides of darkness and pain,

Each moment I lose, I’m left with the strain.

But can I uncover a flicker of light,

And find my way back from this endless night?

I’ve got to be stronger, I’ve got to break free,

From this glass prison that’s drowning me.

Let the clear waters wash over my soul,

I’ll fight through the shadows, regain my control.

(Final Chorus)

Clear waters, oh, set me free,

I’m ready to rise from this misery.

I’ll reclaim my heart, push through the despair,

Feel the love that’s been hiding in care.

No more a pistol, just open my hands,

I’ll gather the pieces, make new plans.

Oh, clear waters, won’t you show me the way?

I’ll embrace every dawn, let the darkness decay.
