I have to make a clean break

Please try to understand

My heart began to heal

Before I could make a plan

I have to make a clean break

It hasn’t set quite right

Lurking underneath scar tissue

Rip cinders duck from sight

I have to make a clean break

Even if the snap could spark

My pain will stay a constant

But for you, backlash may smart

Please let me explain

You see it’s

Crooked

Bent

Ripped and rent

Stabbed with daggers

Fixed haphazard

I’ve got to get a new break

Break it off

I’ve got to get a clean break

In my heart

It was

Shredded

Stopped

Twist’ed, popped

Thrown together

Fragile as a feather

I’ve got to make a re-break

Got to do it

I’ve got to get a clean break

‘Cause it has

Been set

Wrong

It looks strong

Sewn up, red thread

Aspirations dull and dead

Know under the underneath

Sharp and broken

I’ve got to get a clean break

Still unspoken

Yet you can see it’s

Crooked

Bent

Ripped and rent

I have to make a clean break

Now is the only when

heartbreak
