Cotton Candy Stars

For new loves

I just want to love you

Like a cotton candy star

I could fold you up in softness

And melt 'round where you are

Trade kisses sweet like candy pills

To cure all your aches and pains

Forget the world and lose ourselves

Drop any bitterness or chains

Replacing them with fairy-spun strings

Which are far too light for binding

That touch our hearts and ease them free

'Til no hurt lingers there residing

None left between us or before us

No pain within us or behind

Like a cotton candy star

I'll hold you soft so you can shine

love poems
