Secrets
Burn like hot coals
Scorching her fragile mind
The weight of knowing sears her soul
Burden
~~~~~
Burden
She dared to share
A truth too dark to hold
But trust once broken cannot heal
Fractured
~~~~~
Fractured
By his cold words
Her guilt became her chains
While his deeds festered in the dark
Poison
~~~~~
Poison
Spread through their bond
Each whisper fed the rot
Until their friendship fell apart
Ashes
~~~~~
Ashes
Were all that stayed
Two hearts now torn and burned
Destroyed by silence, guilt, and pain
Secrets

Author's Notes
If a friend confided in you that they were lying to someone to protect them, but you knew the truth would eventually cause that person deep pain, and they asked you to keep it a secret, what would you do? Could you stay silent, knowing the harm their actions might cause? What would be the right thing to do in that situation?
A Crown Cinquain is a sequence of five cinquain stanzas functioning to construct a larger poem. The syllabic count for each stanza 2-4-6-8-2.
The last line of the previous cinquain stanza is repeated as the first line of the next cinquain stanza.
The final line of the last cinquain stanza does not have to equal the first line of the first cinquain stanza, but it is an option.

Wowww... this was so powerful! thank you Dharrsheena! The way the poem starts and ends with "Secrets" is just... wow. I can really feel the weight of that broken trust in every line. Amazing work as always! 🔥❤️
Powerful. Makes me rise up as you explore the complexities. Hugs.
I admire how the poem balances narrative with abstract emotion. The story of trust and betrayal unfolds clearly while still leaving room for interpretation and reflection.
Your poem really fits your author's questions and in thinking, I'm not quite sure what I would do. It would have to depend on what the secret is. Very thought provoking!
Most of the time, when you get involved, you end up hurting yourself. But when it’s a very important matter that will have serious consequences and concerns someone close to me, then I can carefully take action. A very beautiful poem, clever, well-written, and it makes me think. 🤗
A terrible thing when friendships die due to misunderstandings.

Very well done with so much depth into the broken heart
Really Enjoyed
Really enjoyed this. Friendship are both strong and fragile but they live in trust. Without it, goodbye.
Yo yo ma! Whats’s brown and sticky? A stick! How can you tell there’s been an elephant in your fridge? Because of the footprints in the butter? Why was the blonde on the roof? Because she was told the “drinks were on the house!”. Sorry! 🤣🤣
Beautiful and poignant. I love the fire in your work!
I love it good luck

i love it! This poem has a beautifully consistent and deliberate structure that really enhances its emotional impact, it's great penning and i really enjoyed reading it 😊
This is hauntingly beautiful.
❤️
It makes me feel sad 😢
Share, this is epic and should have been Top Story. Someone very close to my best friend has been lying to him for two years and spilled all the beans to me in a fit of rage. Now I'm concealing this secret to protect my best friend until he's in a better place to be able to process it. So this writing really resonated with me. Well done! 😊✨❤️☀️😁😎🌟
Clandestine is so profound and breathtaking. Your work is always stunning.
This is a wonderful poem
Very Good Story
I loved this , keep up the good work! This poem makes me evaluate trust.
This is a brilliant poem. About the note, it’s a difficult situation. I tend to keep secrets when I am asked to. In the case you present, I think it depends if I know the person involved or not. But then again, it’s the trust involved in accepting to keep a secret what I would honour. Or perhaps I would not accept the burden to keep that secret if I knew the person involved. This is a very difficult dilemma.
This got me thinking.
