Christmas Memories

Holiday Reflections in Verse Challenge

By Rasma RaistersPublished about a year ago 1 min read

A little girl by a shiny colorful Christmas tree,

always bigger than she.

Tinsel sparkling,

presents in colorful paper,

and Mom and Dad smiling,

by the Christmas tree.

Could it be that it was so long ago?

Magical Christmas moments,

looking out the window,

as snowflakes come falling down,

blown by the north wind,

dancing like tiny ballerinas,

to the ground.

Watching with excitement,

into the frozen night sky,

hoping to see a fat man in red with a white beard,

in a sleigh pulled by eight tiny reindeer.

Clutching a candy cane.

the scent of Mom’s cooking,

wafting from the kitchen.

Each new Christmas I remember,

these magical moments,

and I can see the faces of loved ones,

wishing me Merry Christmas from above.

Oh, those nostalgic early years, they flew away so fast. But the loved ones are your guardian angels, always guiding with a smile.
