Christmas In Your Heart

by: Teresa J. Lavender

By Teresa LavenderPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Well, it’s time to trim the Christmas tree and sing the old-time melodies

To feel the peace and harmony which everyone should feel

To wrap the presents, tie the bows, watch the special t.v. shows

To be real good cause Santa knows, yes, Christmas time is here

It may say Christmas on the calendar, and snow may cover all the earth

Stockings hang upon the hearth and singing fill the air

But I just can’t catch the memory or feel the peace and harmony

I guess it’s just not Christmas until it’s Christmas in your heart

I recall some friends from long ago, and wonder why I let them go

Perhaps that’s why I can’t recall the Christmas of my thoughts

I used to love the pretty lights, the way they’d sparkle in the night

But something’s lost to make it right, I just can’t bring it near

It may say Christmas on the calendar, and snow may cover all the earth

Stockings hang upon the hearth and singing fill the air

But I just can’t catch the memory or feel the peace and harmony

I guess it’s just not Christmas until it’s Christmas in your heart

Well, mornings come and mornings go, Christmas Eve we’ll see the snow

Santa’s elves will make a show, I wish I shared their cheer

But I just can’t wrap the presents right, the treetop doesn’t want to light

Perhaps I’ll give it one more night, perhaps another year

It may say Christmas on the calendar, and snow may cover all the earth

Stockings hang upon the hearth and singing fill the air

But I just can’t catch the memory or feel the peace and harmony

I guess it’s just not Christmas until it’s Christmas in your heart

No, I guess it’s just not Christmas until it’s Christmas in your heart
