Choose to be the light

I can't wait for the day when my eyes will sweep the area, not trying to judge people's actions by the standards of what I think are right or wrong, but simply admiring the beauty of a masterpiece in the making or the hardworking hawker just striving to survive.

I thirst for days where my ears won't eagerly wait to sift out what is wrong or what is right from every sentence or phrase that runs through them, instead listen carefully for the message behind the twisted string of words.

Make some sense out of it, you know?

For what does it profit a man to spend his days judging others' shortcomings forgetting that he has some of his own?

We look out for our weaknesses in others like “Just checking if you're better than I am at this. That way I'll know what category to put you into"

We are quick to blame other people, to point out the wrong in their lives, gesture with disdain how horrible they look in our eyes. Sometimes I just can’t help it. My self-righteousness allows me the unfortunate privilege of “blaming sinners for sinning differently”

I can tell a lie and think it is OK, but frown at everyone who uses the “F” word in a conversation. “Blaming sinners for sinning differently” Often times those we accuse or detest are a true representation of who we really are.

Today I choose to find the right, the good, the beauty, the elegance and fruitfulness in everyone around me. I choose to be the light that dispels every form of darkness and provide comfort to many.
