Child of the moon

From: Fragments of Philosophy

By Mat BarnsleyPublished about a year ago 1 min read

If I could be anything,

I’d probably be the moon,

An outsider to humanity,

Knowing it was doomed.

But I’d never say a single word;

I’d just look on in awe

At all the disasters that you create

And the warnings you ignore.

You destroy the world around yourselves

And then blame one another.

You’ve made mistakes; make no mistake,

Don’t blame any other.

You’ve taken every resource

That she ever had to give

And used it for your power and greed,

Started every war with!

You kill things deemed beneath you

To fuel your power and greed.

No one’s left but you to blame

For sowing the devil’s seed.

So don’t look up to God for help,

Because there is only me—

The moon who’s seen your treacheries,

So please just leave me be…
