The Obeah Man turns wine to blood

This island thirsts for a cleansing flood.

And when the rains pour

and the earth slips into the ocean,

copper will spill into the rivers.

Veins full to burst

Bottles of wine in the gullys,

watch your step.

Mama will suck it out your new shoes

Say it’s blood.

The Bruja turns blood to wine

Find it in your mama’s purse

While you’re looking for her winter gloves.

She says that it’s blood...

Papa don't come home till morning

Hands so dry they crack

Split open

Peel from the bone

“A little blood never hurt none.”

A stream of blood never hurt none.
