Chasing the light

In the silence of the night, when the stars start to fade,

I can feel the dreams I had, like a promise that betrayed.

Once I held the fire, like a flame that was bright,

But now I’m just a shadow, wandering in the light.

I close my eyes and listen, to the whispers in the breeze,

They tell me that the magic’s, still here if I believe.

But how do I catch it, when it dances in the air?

The longing in my heart—oh, it cuts without a care.

Oh, how do I keep going, when my spirit feels so drained?

Every step I’m taking, seems to lead me back to pain.

I’m longing for the brilliance, for the dreams I used to see,

But they’re slipping through my fingers, like sand in restless sea.

Oh, can’t you feel it? The dimming of the spark,

Yet the soul knows deep inside, I’m meant for more than dark.

Days turn into years, and I’m fighting every day,

With a heart full of hope, yet it lowly fades away.

Every time I rise, I’m met with endless fears,

It's a battle against the silence, fighting back the tears.

I see the life I dream of, in a vision crystal clear,

But the road feels so heavy, and the path is never near.

Caught between the whispers, and the noise of the rain,

How do I find a way, when I’m lost in all this pain?
