Changing Seasons

One moment it was warm, then the leaves began changing.

They started to fall, as the weather grew cold.

Before long, the days felt shorter...

The sun stopped shining on the fields of gold.

The rain froze, the birds flew south.

The once green meadow, now a blanket of snow.

Cold and windy, in the midst of a blizzard,

Waiting... on the spring rainbow.

I know it will come, it's all happened before.

The snow will melt, the days grow longer.

Birds chirp, nature's song.

The leaves return, the tree's are stronger.

Life is reborn, beauty restored.

The world painted green, before flowers bloom.

Rain falls, over the forest...

The colours of nature blossoming soon.

Then comes the heat, the sun getting warmer.

A humid haze falls over the land.

People retreat, they head for the beach,

Cool off in the water, relax on the sand.

It will be warm for a moment, then the leaves will start changing.

Beginning to fall, as the weather grows cold.

Before long, the days will feel shorter...

The sun will stop shining on the fields of gold.
