changes
you've been stuck on that corner for some time
you've been stuck on that corner for some time
as people pass by they avoid your eye-contact
when you reach out your torn and worn cap
"could anyone spare me some change?"
you end the day with a handful of coins
but sometimes you're lucky
in ways unexpected
see today when i saw you there
you'd been stuck on that corner for some time
but i made eye-contact with you
unlike any other ignorant passerby
"could you, sir, spare me some change?"
and i laughed
"it's not spare change you need,
but a whole change that you need!"
the man looked confused
grabbing his arms, i pulled him up
but he resisted
"sir, don't you know that i'm unclean?
don't you know - - "
"that doesn't matter!
if you don't mind the favour,
let me buy you some lunch
after a haircut and shower!"
the man started weeping
for perhaps no one had shown him
this kind of kindness
perhaps no one had given the chance
to change
About the Creator

I love all things writing...though I am particularly biased towards good, vulnerable poetry. I love pouring my heart on a page with every piece I write. Life is for expressing, not containing.
