A little, a lot

It’s more complex than I thought

I like you

But I hate you

I hate you

But I don't want to hurt you

Letting go is hard

It’s like splitting your heart

You want to cry

I can see it in your eyes

And It hurts inside

Cuz of how long it took to realize

This isn’t how to live life

So much more in the world

So many people in the world

And I’m stuck in my room

With someone who’s trapped me in their ruse

I don’t want to give up

I don’t want to leave

But I can’t stay in this hell

It’s making me bleed

Some things aren’t worth the pain

And no one deserves the blame

Just because I stopped loving you

It doesn’t mean I don’t love you

This is a farewell to all the bad

And a welcome to the good ahead

I’m sorry I have to leave this behind

But it’s for the best of both our lives

I’m sorry I have to hurt you like this

Believe me, it hurts me just as much to see you like this

But change is everything

Change is how we gain things

Change is how we lose those things

And change is how we get those things back

And maybe someday that change brings us back again

Or maybe now we can just be happy as friends

Just know that I’ll always love you

And I know you’ll always love me too

But now it's time for us to put it to rest
