Chance Encounter

Is there such a thing?

By Matthew KirkPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I found you in the Byzantine bellows, your voice slipped through the cracks of ancient walls.

We met in surprised laughter when I saw your number scrawled.

A chance encounter brought us together on a journey for love.

I found you unexpectedly, windswept as the snowflake falls, descending like a dove.

You say we've met many times, in the corner of my eye, always in my mind.

It took a pilgramage to realise, that everything about you is divine.

How I wish that you could be with me forever. We've come to meet each other in this life, at last.

Always our agreed meeting place, where Asia meets Europe, in Constinople's heart.

I know I'll be sure to meet you next time at the place where our worlds collide.

But let's promise each other that until that time, we'll walk this path together

Shoulder to shoulder, side by side.
